Genibel The Future Queen

The cruel friend has a ward, Genibel, a princess who was given to him for training into a submissive tool. This is the princess of a large kingdom.

Backstory on the princess:

Genibel was born between the marriage of the king of the nation of Ban and his wife from Sefi. Ban was a warlike, supremacist, nation that rapidly reformed into a powerhouse. They had one of the largest populations of Solfrey.

They had no hereditary nobility and instead had a meritocratic examination system where the most capable and ambitious Solfrey became rulers.

Sefi was seen as a barbarian, inferior race that cavorted with commoners and were subsequently taken over by Ban. But because the king of Ban was known to be cosmopolitan and kind hearted he chose to take a Sefi princess as wife when Sefi surrendered, instead of genociding them, but this was seen as an abnormal practice that had the disapproval of the Ban nobility.

A Ban noble called Zi Su hatched a plan to incite a rebellion in Sefi and blame it on princess consort. The rebellion failed and the Sefi nobles who were previously treated decently and allowed to keep much of their wealth were then purged and their lands given to Ban elite. The princess consort was executed and Zi Su's daughter Zi Wuying married the King and became Queen. Genibel was 5 years old.

Genibel was treated like trash in the palace and with venom by the Queen and eventually at the age of 11 was sent away by the Grand Preceptor Shao Liang to a remote provincial capital where she attended homeschooling through the SCN. Unlike the palace harem where she could at least interact with the children of other harem girls and servants in the remote palace she was lonely, did not have much creature comforts, and had nobody except her bodyguard. Her education was mostly racist, consisting of how great the people of Ban is and how awful Sefi is and how to be a submissive partner for her eventual partner. She was expected to learn esoteric Ban poetry and plays, music, and nothing of politics or sciences. She was also expected to learn "love magic", which is the magic of giving sexual pleasure.

Her bodyguard was Lelaira, a knight who was a personal lover to the King. Though Lelaira loved the King the King probably was not as into her and sent her away to guard Genibel. Unfortunately Lelaira blamed Genibel for this and took her anger out onto her.

Genibel was cruely whipped for her failures in study even as a child. But because Lelaira hated her, she whipped her wantonly, without cause, even if she excelled. When Genibel tells you this you remark how cruel it is for Lelaira to not use a whipping girl. You pity Genibel for missing the gentle protection you had through Zhenzhen.

This caused Genibel's behavior to worsen and she eventually gave up on learning properly, becoming a "problem child" and eventually causing her to be misdiagnosed with ADHD at age 14. Lelaira used the misdiagnosis to get away from Genibel and return to the palace.

After the ADHD diagnosis she was sent to your cruel friend Yao Hong the slave trainer as a ward to be scared straight. She spent the next 7 years basically imprisoned there. Though she was a real Solfrey she experienced the terror of Anastasia Coldren's fake Solfrey experience as one of Anastasia's friends. In fact one of the motivations behind Anastasia's experience was to teach Genibel a lesson. The experience with Anastasia was traumatic for her and caused her to also fear and question her reality and her status. It also gave her strong imposter syndrome and deep rooted insecurity even later on when she regains the throne.

When you were given the opportunity at age 24 to be cruel to Anastasia you saw Genibel there, but you did not care much about her and forgot her rather quickly.

3 years later at 27 you return at "present time" and remake her acquaintance. She urges you to steal her away. You agree and promise her that you'll take her. You conspire in Ban to destabilize that country, eventually leading to regime change and chaos that can only be fixed by returning Genibel to the throne. Eventually you do so to the full amazement of your friend Yao Hong.

Overview of quest plot:

Her father dies her younger brother becomes King with the mom becoming Queen Dowager. There were suspicions in that the family killed the King, Lelaira thus led a coup against the Queen Dowager Zi Wuying. Lelaira believed that the coup was on behalf of Duke Han Gen Shi.

Q1: First talk to the King, the Queen, the King's Newphew and Genibel, order does not matter you're just making introductions.

The King is just a generic king, maybe i'll try to give him an interesting personality so to make his death more interesting. If he turns out to be a likable character make the queen actually kill him, if you can't come up with something make the player kill him.

The Queen Zi Wuying and her Crown Prince are enanmored with you like many people because of your talents are bloviating on magic on the SCN. Your philosophical podcasts on the nature of magic are very fascinating to them and the son is a fan. The Queen supports his interests and this gives you a chance to get to know them.

The King's Nephew Duke Shi HanGen has conflict with Zi family, as they are two of the 5 most powerful families in Ban. Duke Han believes Zi to be a manipulative, scheming family who would do anything for power, and he resents his uncle marrying a Zi. He also has this conspiracy theory where his uncle killed his father. As his father was the former crown prince but died in the same battle as the King whereas the King survived, leading the King to become King. After talking to him a few times you give him some false information to support this theory.

Q2: After you talk to Genibel and learn more about her backstory, talk to the Grand Preceptor and Lelaira.

You find out that the Grand Preceptor sent Genibel away to protect her from the Queen. However Genibel hates him and thinks he was the one who ruined her life. Actually the Grand Preceptor used to be the secret lover of the old Sefi Queen before she married the King and thought that he might have been Genibel's father (factually untrue but he doesn't know that). He is interested in restoring Genibel unaware of how much she hates him.

Lelaira is one of the Divine Knights

Lelaira is a lover of the king and has a jealous competition with the Queen though she knows her place.

Genibel is very lonely after seizing control of the kingdom and has no friends. She is supported by the Shi family but the Shi family actually kinda despises her for being half Sefi. She knows that you are the one who put her on the throne and wants you to physically be there to make love to her every week. This is very annoying. Furthermore she feels super out of her depth, feels no attachment to the kingdom nor the people in it, and has no education that is suitable for ruling a country. She just wants you.
