Holiday Cut

The point here is the full disregard for your pet and the pet's consent, could be either a slave or a servant. Could be perpetrated by someone in your party, like Yaling, Cinean, or a noble in the world.

Probably what's going to happen is a body mod, but potentially could be something else.

The pet's life is ruined for an absolutely insignificant, yet innocent reason. For example, being holiday party trick. It brings laughter to everyone, except the person who has to deal with the consequences. To make it believable and not have the perp be an absolutely empathy-lacking monster, make the change temporary, however, with life altering consequences.

Evil is normalized.

Ideas for consequences:

• Forgot what the original body part looked like, and restored it incorrectly, or maybe "lost" the original body part.
• Decided to get creative with the restoration, and now the pet is "funny".
• Forgot to restore, left it too long and it's mentally traumatized.
• Forgot to restore, left it too long and it missed out on doing something important that it had to do. If you're going this route, it's pretty important to introduce the pet's himself first, so that the reader can feel the loss.

Ideally this should actually separate into 2 different quests, one about missing out on doing something important and the other more about body horror. Both would have the same theme of solfrey's disregard for the commoners and the power dynamic there.

Ideas missing out on something important:

• Some sort of trade off, like losing a family member or a friend...
• A visiting archmage, archsage, or arch monk or whatever, here to administer a test or hear pitches for ideas. The pet is supposed to be there, but the perp forgot to restore it, and now it's too late.
• Some sort of competition, like an olympics of some sort...

Ideas for why:

• Your wife tied her up and served her to you as an anniversary present of your first meeting, or anniversary of your elopment. Supposedly during your elopement you had to fight off some demons and it was a whole adventure, and this is a reenactment.

Ideas for body horror:

• This could be part of R4's storyline, and your intro to the pet be when you first meet R4.
• Just some kind of holiday, transforms the pet into a funny object.
