How the process to gender switch is handled

For Reader Impact:

  • I think we want readers to pick up on his feelings before MC does
  • The subtext in his earlier reactions lets readers piece it together
  • Makes the emotional breakdown more powerful when it happens
  • Readers can see it building while MC remains oblivious
  • Creates dramatic irony that enhances the scene

The Build-up ():

  1. Jealously watching how women around him easily access happiness
  2. Close proximity, camaraderie to MC but unable to bridge that gender gap pricks at him
  3. Gets more distracted/emotional around MC
  4. Jiaolong having sex with MC (potentially a different scene could work as well) triggers him (optional)
  5. He talks with Jiaolong who leaks the conversation to MC as something you may want to know.
  6. You just use your magecraft on him in the night. It's your advanced medical magecraft knowledge, coupled with necromancy. He takes 5 days to recover while unconscious.
  7. She wakes up a woman, dealing with both (temporary) physical pain and emotional adjustment and then finds you and confesses her love for you.

Shows Jiaolong's complex role:

  • She's his confidante but also "betrays" him by telling MC
  • Her own experience with MC might push her to help Sunwei
  • Creates interesting dynamic between them
  • Adds to Jiaolong's character development too

The Scene Flow:

  1. Confides in Jiaolong during their work:
  • Trying to stay professional but emotion leaks through
  • Shows his research into the possibility
  • Jiaolong recognizes the deeper meaning behind his "academic interest"
  1. MC learns from Jiaolong and just does it:
  • Treats it as practical decision
  • Another asset to control/reward
  • Very matter-of-fact about it
  • Sunwei just wakes up as a woman one day
  1. The emotional scene happens after transformation:
  • Now she can properly express feelings
  • The physical change releases emotional barriers
  • More natural for the romance aspect
  • Can be more explicit about desire/submission
  • Works better as female character expressing devotion to MC
