Kingdom of QiangDi

Geography

A neighbor of the Kingdom of Fabuwie on the Lamba continent.

Dynasty of Qiang Di is a powerful state founded in the Centerwich Mountain Range. Its primary lands is in the region known as Centerwich, a large meteor impact crater in the center gives it its name. Surrounded on all sides by large mountains, it is a natural fortress that is famed for being incredibly difficult to conquer.

During the Demon Wars, the Sican Army built enhanced fortifications with Necromancy and slaves that stands to this day. Though necromancy is now outlawed, the fortifications and the slaves who maintained them remained.

Its glaciers are the source of much of the water in the region, and the mines are rich in minerals.

History

During the Demon Wars, the Sican Army built enhanced fortifications with Necromancy that stands to this day. When the Kpor army was routed in Fabuwie it retreated there and was saved.

After the fall of R4, some of her retinue fled there and started a cult that worshipped her.

When Fabuwie was at the height of their power on Lamba, having conquered most of it, Qiang Di stood independent. Through shrewd maneuvering and diplomacy, they appeared as allies of the major powers in the world.

They were given special rights by Fabuwie to attack Fabuwie's enemies, and they exploited that right by enslaving millions of people, training them, and shipping them out to the world.

The Qiang Di slavers are famous for their craft and are much sought after.

Downfall

• Were falsely accused of fermenting chaos in Fabuwie to have more slaves to capture.
• Were falsely accused of harboring members of the Iexin clan.
• Were falsely accused of siding with Iexin during the Iexin invasion of Fabuwie.
• Qiangdi, like Iexin, was said to have above average commoner leaders.
• Hated on by various slave trading corporations who were jealous of their success.
• Hated by various Sica successor states for having the Cult of R4.

Ended up being invaded by a coalition force that completely destroyed the country. Despite the Rights banning enslaving civilian populations after surrendering, a special exemption was made for the Qiangdi commoner populace, who were all enslaved with no exception, since it was "only appropriate because they were the slavers" who violated the rights and inappropriately enslaved innocent people.

Culture

Supposedly a very enlightened kingdom. There is a practice of ritual euthanasia. A specific suicide rite becomes a honored way of death, open to everyone who is diseased, suffering, etc. It is a private and highly honorable affair, that is intended to give those who are at their wits end hope for a better life if they can just do this death rite. However the death rite is actually a front for a state-sanctioned therapy intervention and most people are talked into not dying.
