Level 1 Outline

Level 1 Storylines for Erotic Genre Expectations

The Erotic Power Fantasy Setup [A]

Promise: Explicitly signals to readers that this is a male-dom erotic power fantasy with non-consensual elements, so they can opt in or out early. Establishes the erotic contract with the audience. Women will be claimed as sexual property by powerful men, and this will be portrayed as arousing.

Progress:

  • Portrait worship scene - tells readers that sexual submission to authority is eroticized
  • Kieki's RoFR story - signals that sexual slavery is a game mechanic/story element
  • Jiayi getting wet from nobles - shows female arousal from power differentials is central
  • Baron scene - demonstrates this will include explicit female submission fantasies
  • Academy expulsion for smut - meta-signals this is an erotic story, not just adventure with romance

Payoff: The necromancer scene confirms: yes, this is THAT kind of erotic game.

Meta: Works like a content warning disguised as worldbuilding. Readers know by the end of the prologue whether they want to play a game with rape, mind control, and sexual slavery themes.

The Non-Vanilla Kink Signal [B]

Purpose: Warns vanilla romance readers this isn't their game while attracting target audience who wants darker content. Sets up specific fetish expectations.

Progress:

  • Soul-sensing = supernatural violation incoming
  • Black Curse = magical bondage/control themes
  • Groveling scenes = humiliation/degradation kink
  • Virgin corruption arc = innocence/experience dynamics
  • Mind control climax = dub-con/non-con transformation

Payoff: Reader thinks either "fuck yes, this is my shit" or "nope, not for me"

Meta: Functions as genre advertising - promising specific kinks to attract target audience while repelling those who'd give bad reviews for content they don't enjoy.

World Power Dynamics Introduction [A]

Solfrey supremacy shown through lived experience of talented commoner who knows her place, fears overstepping, still gets destroyed. Promise of dark fantasy world where power differentials are absolute, no meritocracy can overcome birth lottery. Progress through escalating demonstrations of helplessness despite competence. Payoff in necromancer demonstrating ultimate control - even special talents mean nothing.

  • Jiayi's practiced deference to Solfrey, internal monologue about dangers of noble attention
  • Discussion of theology and the difference between solfrey and commoners
  • Family's portrait worship reveals how feudal power is visible in daily life
  • Priest's casual reminder about becoming Miya as life goal despite Jiayi's achievements
  • Baron's polite forcing of dangerous job onto reluctant hero who can't refuse
  • Right of First Refusal discussions showing accepted sexual ownership system
  • Jiayi's physical responses to Solfrey presence (kneeling, averting eyes) show embodied submission
  • The priest's discussion of becoming a Miya hints at spiritual salvation and meaning of life with service, submission, and loyalty
    • sly knowing wink at sexual service
  • Jiayi's magesight detecting vast power differences she can't bridge
  • Discussion of Dou Rong vs Commoners who can't hurt her show the real power difference between solfrey and commoners beyond the social class and theology
  • Investigation reveals commoner resentments but also resignation
  • Necromancer scene - true power makes all careful boundaries irrelevant
  • Commoner sexuality is controlled whereas solfrey is not
    • Solfrey has sex slaves
    • Solfrey can fuck each other out of wedlock, the academy students do
    • However commoners cannot, have to be married to each other to have sex under penalty of jail/death, have to offer RoFR.
      • However can have sex with solfrey without penalty, it's when they have sex with other commoners that is regulated
      • All this is explained in world building

Payoff: When the necromancer claims her, it's the dark fulfillment of everything the world has taught her to want.

Meta: This storyline establishes that consent operates differently in this world - the erotic content will explore dubious consent and power exchange as societal norms.

Meta: Establishes world rules through Jiayi's careful navigation and ultimate failure. Her cynicism validates the world's darkness while her destruction proves it's darker than even cynics know.

Tease the Nature of the Soul and Theology [C]

Explain that to her, commoners are dark, with one bright spot of light within them. Solfrey is much brighter, 2x brighter. And it's not one spot within them it's the entire body, a full aura, that makes them almost too bright to look at, washed out.

She has extra talent in magesight that everyone said was very special. Most commoners cannot perceive it at all, but she can.

  • She understands this power can help her track down demons easier
  • When the game actually starts it contributes to her stats

We get some of her impressions of when she first learned to differentiate between commoners and solfrey and the awe and fear she felt when encountering solfrey for the first time.

  • We talk a bit about the basic theology here, those angels who brought magecraft to the world and gifted them to humans, and envious commoners being the ones to summon demons. At first she didn't perceive any difference, but as she grew older she revealed a talent to be able to see that the solfrey are brighter in the magecraft senses. This she was able to do early and is what led her to pursue becoming an mageknight.

The Carefully Managed Heart [B]

Dreams of being chosen. Read books where solfrey men rape commoner women, who eventually end up willing, dreams of it happening to her. But in reality, the commoner boys at academy completely ignore her. They're surrounded by sex slaves, and solfrey girls. There's a serious separation between classes.

She's resigned and careful, knows that if she ends up dealing with a solfrey guy, he's probably a going to ruin her life. The fairy tales in the books aren't real, there is only ruin and heartbreak. The powerful solfrey do not need her (sexually), those who do probably wants to hurt her, treat her like garbage. Solfrey are so callous, uncareful of their power, the way they could easily completely hijack the trajectory of her life, and do it without care or her best interests even an inkling in their mind. She should focus on finding a commoner man to marry, at most a loyalist, and then doing her RoFR.

The cynicism/wariness adds delicious internal conflict:

She KNOWS getting involved with Solfrey is dangerous She's seen what happens to commoners who get too close But she can't help being attracted to them anyway Like Maomao, she tries to keep her head down and just do her job But unlike Maomao, she has these embarrassing romantic/sexual fantasies she can't quite suppress

So in practice:

  • She accepts the Dou Rong case because it's prestigious (family pride)
  • She's planning to solve it professionally and stay distant from the nobles
  • But when the Baron is right there, she has all these inappropriate thoughts
  • She mentally scolds herself: "Don't be stupid, you know what happens to commoner girls who think they're special"
  • Still allows herself to be pushed to investigate alone (her competence overriding her caution)

This makes her more relatable - she's not naively idealistic, she KNOWS the world is dangerous. She just thinks she's smart enough to navigate it safely. The "making family proud" grounds her in something specific and human rather than abstract altruism.

The tragedy becomes: even being smart and careful isn't enough when you stumble into the path of someone like the protagonist. Her cynicism was right, just not cynical enough.

She is kinda cynical and outwardly really holds herself back like Maomao from Apoc Diaries. She's very understanding of what people are going through, and full of sympathy for them. Very fearful of the more powerful, wants to protect herself, knows what the safest play is to do so, but her desires just calls out to her.

  • Baron scene: body responding to proximity while mind screams warnings, arousal mixed with self-disgust
  • Academy years watching the rejection from solfrey boys, understanding that "real solfrey" men have no need for her, if any do take an interest in her, it would be for evil
  • Investigation phase: telling herself she's using the case for advancement, not hoping Count notices her competence
  • Capture: horrified recognition that every cynical thought was correct, still feels betrayal (by you her solfrey lord) despite knowing better, and trying to protect herself from predators like you

Meta: Creates tension between intellectual understanding and emotional/physical desire. Supports the erotic-horror genre by making her complicit in her own destruction - she knew the danger and proceeded anyway. Links to family-pride storyline through her need to justify risky choices as "career advancement."

Jiayi's Cautious Ascent [B]

Talented hero with exceptional soul-sight returns home wanting simple life, make family proud, avoid noble entanglements like smart commoners do. Forced into noble investigation, professional competence battles with self-preservation instincts and inappropriate desires. Trying to stay safe in dangerous world, gets obliterated by true predator, proving even careful talented people can't escape when real power wants them. Shows genre's dark heart - this isn't hero's journey but prey's final day.

  • Returns home after 5 years, Level 2 hero certification (from sketchy Nartho not prestigious Yan)
  • Family proud but she knows she's compromised, hiding academy expulsion for writing Solfrey smut
  • Exceptional soul-sight ability makes her notice things others miss, sets up protagonist expectations
  • Meeting with loyalist priest mentor, trying to act normal about certification
  • Baron forces investigation onto her despite her obvious reluctance, she knows getting involved with nobles is dangerous
  • Investigates professionally, maintaining distance, but Baron's presence triggers inappropriate fantasies she tries to suppress
  • Competence in investigation (soul-sight picking up clues) makes her overconfident about forest lead
  • Ambushed by undead, all her genuine talent meaningless against necromancy
  • Sexual domination and soul control, her special senses make her feel the violation more acutely

Meta: Primary storyline carrying reader identification. Her wariness makes violation more horrific - she knew to be afraid, just not afraid enough. Intersects with World Power Dynamics through her correct but insufficient cynicism.

The Horny Virgin's Nightmare [C]

Sexually frustrated talented young woman with embarrassing desires maintains professional distance, knows noble attention is dangerous. Internal battle between inappropriate fantasies and self-preservation, trying to be smart like cynical heroes she admires. Gets monkey's paw fulfillment - "chosen" in worst possible way, desires fulfilled through violation. Erotic horror at its purest.

  • Established as virgin through RoFR discussions
  • She is glad she wore longer pants because it was windy, and if she wore shorts she knows she would've been dripping.
  • History of academy expulsion for Solfrey smut fiction, deep shame [HOWEVER THIS IS A SECRET AND NOT BROUGHT UP IN THE PROLOGUE]
  • Inappropriate thoughts about Baron while trying to maintain professionalism
  • Self-scolding internal monologue, knows what happens to commoner girls who think they're special
  • Physical arousal battling with survival instincts during investigation
  • Violation scene - exceptional soul-sight makes her feel every detail of domination
  • Bitter irony of rejection even in rape (prevented pregnancy), not "worthy" even as victim
    • she wanted to be chosen but not like this

Meta: Provides erotic element while maintaining horror tone. Her self-aware horniness makes violation complex - she wanted to be chosen but not like this. Supports main storyline's tragedy.

Making Family Proud [E]

Daughter who achieved more than expected, Level 2 hero from capital, family's hope for advancement. Hiding failures (academy expulsion, Nartho certification) to maintain their pride. Investigation prestigious opportunity to prove worth, justify their faith. Ends with becoming shameful secret, controlled asset who must lie to everyone she loves.

  • Parents' joy at successful daughter returning, gossiping about her achievements
  • Jiayi's internal guilt about deceptions, determination to make truth match their beliefs
  • Priest's pride in her success, Jiayi's shame about certification source
  • Taking dangerous noble case because prestige might elevate family status
  • Final scene implications - must pretend normalcy while being necromancer's tool
  • This is a rather boring thread, and even at max effectiveness I don't think it can avoid being cliche. So not going to be making a lot of time for it.

Meta: Grounds supernatural horror in human stakes. Family pride becomes another loss - she's not just losing freedom but ability to be who they think she is.

The False Mystery [C]

Dou Rong disappearance presents as standard investigation mystery, hero with special detection abilities seems positioned to solve it. Baron hiring her, following leads, competent investigation building toward revelation. Exists to misdirect from true genre - not detective story but horror. Reader expects Jiayi to uncover truth, instead becomes victim of it.

  • Baron's distress over missing daughter, hiring special talent
  • Jiayi's soul-sight picking up clues others missed
  • Investigation revealing social tensions, building toward seeming conspiracy
  • Forest lead as breakthrough moment
  • Subverted by capture - she found exactly what she wasn't supposed to

Meta: Structural misdirection supporting prologue's shock value. Makes reader complicit in expecting hero narrative, delivers prey narrative instead. Sets up pattern for game's false mysteries.

Some people dislike MC [D]

This only exists to diffuse the wish-fulfillment feeling of everyone loves the MC that can make a story feel unrealistic. Commoner resistance is NOT a theme, and it is a power fantasy, the resistance is not actually there, all the fighting is against other solfrey.

  • Very minor no name characters complain about MC.
  • Later on we'll have a named character but it'll be an optional scene.
