Overview

Mariwen Suksu is a solfrey minor noblewoman from a somewhat wealthy family of no renown.

She is 1 year younger than you (26 at the start of the game), you meet her at virtual academy in the SCN.

Your backstory with her

  • The first time you meet her, you were 18, sitting with Peizhi at a SCN party. You saw her, this cute girl in a light gold dress, staring at you from across the room. You look away, and look back a few minutes later, the girl sees your glance again, and jolts. You laugh and beckon at her to come forth with 1 finger.
  • She approaches to talk to the two of you. Peizhi tells her to forget about you, she really doesn't want to get involved and ruin her life, because that's what you're going to do to her.
  • After a bit and you've separated from the two of them, Mariwen steals a cloak you gifted Peizhi from her. It had your family's crest on it, and looks very cool.
  • Peizhi is turbo mad and blasts her with magic, quite literally, in the SCN. She perishes in the SCN (not IRL, and no repercussions other than some nightmares for Mariwen) and Peizhi is banned from the academy room in the SCN. You don't see this happen and from your perspective Peizhi just disappears, ghosts you. You try to find her but you can't. You ask others about Peizhi but nobody knows how to contact her outside of the SCN.

Introduction during the game

  • Her name is first mentioned when you ask Peizhi why the hell did she get banned and she tells you the story about Mariwen.

  • During a Zhenzhen event she tells you about various odd things Mariwen has done. including showing up unannounced at your house when you're not there, talking with your parents.

  • Girl writes an hour-long Instagram story about you and everything you did wrong. It was "crazy". The key here to making this entertaining is to make sure the things you did wrong were super minor/normal and to make her seem crazy, so that this isn't a cancelation (which isn't fun). The girl should give off the vibe of an obsessed stalker and should not have had serious interactions with you.

  • Inspired by the story of Taylor Swift’s Kennedy Obsession. After Mariwen gets to know you, she becomes a fangirl of your family, including your grandfather and grandmother, your aunts, uncles, cousins and parents.

    • She has trivia knowledge about them that even you didn't know.
    • She read, of course, all the non-fiction books on your family.
      • The False Hero: Ian Ming’s Delusions of Grandeur
      • The Piyse-Nebim Conflict: A Struggle for Power and Oil
      • The Battle of Keenona Loss
      • Daughters of the Rebellion
      • The Enablers: The Ming Women and Their Role
      • Ian Ming: Rebel, Ruler, and Rogue of Len
    • She also read this pretty ridiculous historical fiction.
      • Oil and Honor
  • Mariwen just follows you around trying to think up of plans or ways to meet up with you, from her perspective she doesn't seem that threatening and just has a crush. She wants to enginneer a "chance meeting" or "meet cute" scenario rather than something scary.

Her backstory:

  • because her father's a philanderer with dozens of kids and thus gave her no attention, and she learned from her pathetic mother who didn't manage to lock down her father and got played with. So when her feelings towards the man is spurned she takes it much harder than she should as it reminds her of her mother's pain and she can't accept it. Her father is in fact a local lothario, a solfrey who seduced many a noblewoman and eventually married into the nobility.

Neglect and Desperation for Validation:

Growing up with a philanderer father who neglected her and a mother who was emotionally unavailable due to her own issues, the girl developed a deep-seated need for validation and attention. She seeks out the married man as a means to fill this void and prove to herself that she is worthy of love and attention.

Learned Behavior:

Her mother's desperate attempts to win over her father's affection, despite his infidelities, served as a model for how to pursue love. She learned that obsessive behavior and relentless pursuit were acceptable ways to show love and gain attention, even if it was unhealthy.

Fear of Rejection:

The girl's father's behavior led her to internalize the belief that being rejected is a reflection of her own inadequacy. Thus, when the married man rejects her, it triggers deep-seated fears and insecurities, causing her to react with an unhealthy obsession.
