Overview

Narrative Purpose

Builds your character, display the utter lack of care you had for lower class people. But you're different now. You feel utterly self-righteous about your growth and learning, and how as a mature adult you have learned and improved. Now you get to feel superior to others who you feel are still arrogant because you are the most humble.

You talk about your maturity, your superpower is being able to admit to mistakes. Though you have a victim, in your mind the incident is all about yourself.

Notes

  • She's not brought around the main house, as her appearance is too freaky and embarrassing for you.

History

When you were a child, you met a older beautiful girl from Len who agreed to be your friend. She was vivacious, happy, confident, and trusting of you, and some people think she's your first "crush". But to be honest you were too young to have sexual desire. She's a commoner, who you took a liking to in your childhood primarily because she was beautiful, you decide to put her up in the manor grounds as a friend, though your mother warned you about her. She told you that it's okay to keep commoner servants but to not trust beautiful girl commoners. They do not have the same values as you, and it's better to make friends with other solfrey girls. You didn't listen to her at first and insisted on keeping her as a friend.

Your mother's warning primed your mind to turn on her when she "misbehaved" and got uppity.

She wrestled with you, laughed when she lost, was competitive academically, and you pushed each other to learn and study, you were kind to her and she trusted you wholeheartedly. She was 1 year older than you, and had a bad relationship with your whipping girl who was 3 years older than you. Unlike her, the whipping girl "knew her place", acted completely self-effacing and obsequious. The whipping girl was visibly jealous of her. She disliked the whipping girl for disliking her, and felt that the whipping girl had a crab mentality where she's trying to pull her down to her level. She knew that you liked her more and enjoyed her company and thought that the whipping girl was trying to ruin that. She called the whipping girl a pedophile, said that she has a crush on you. You didn't believe her because you were 13 and too young to be sexually aware, but she was right of course. You thought that the whipping girl "knew her place" and so couldn't aspire to want you, and thought that it was a false accusation. However you didn't like how she attacked the whipping girl. But she was also a child really, and wasn't able to control the situation.

Her downfall started when she tattled on something the whipping girl did to a teacher. The girl got horrifically whipped. She thought it was just going to punish her, but you got a scolding as well for "letting" the whipping girl, and then the whipping girl got whipped again for your punishment.

You were mad and comforted the whipping girl, but the friend apologized and you forgave her.

Two days later for some reason there was a conversation about the philosophy of power. She tried to teach you that your power comes from your people, your subjects, from society's agreement to allow you to have power. It is not a god given right that you rule others, but by showing them your value you own the right to rule over them, you show them and convince them of what you can do for them, and they'll like you and let you be the lord. Basically it's a quid pro quo where you bring them value. She talks about the great kings in history who did well by their people, and about your parents, she used them as great examples of great rulers.

You are tremendously angered by this and says this is like a blackmail, where your servants want you to work for them instead of knowing their rightful place. You accuse her of trying to brainwash you into becoming a weak lord, allowing himself to be controlled by his subjects. You accuse her of trying to manipulate. Commoners should just know their place as servants of the Solfrey rather than asking for anything from them.

Sometime later you come to the realization that she was trying to manipulate you. You thought that her behavior going behind your back to the teacher was manipulative and symptomatic of a manipulator. You thought that her telling you the whipping girl had a crush on you was her attempting to drive her away from you and remove your support system.

You feel too ashamed of it, that your mother was right. She was trying to change you and make you submissive, but you were too embarrassed to admit it to your mother. Instead of admitting to your mother that she was right and breaking up with her as a friend, you decide to tell your mother that you like her so much that you want to keep her forever as a pet. Keeping commoner slaves as pets this way is a practice from Fabuwie or historical habit, not practiced in your region. Your mother was shocked and decried the nasty foreign influence, and punished and spanked you. But you felt like you deserved it but for a different reason than she thought.

  • If you're feeling charitable, you can sort of blame your mother for this for priming you mentally to over-react with paranoia against her.

You go to a young knight of your father's who's always treated you kindly and gave you lots of attention Jingfei Haerata. You told her you needed her help but she was to keep it a secret from everyone. You ordered her to cut off her tongue and hands and feet. The knight agreeing to do this endeared her to you. You told her she would be rewarded.

She also enlisted the help of Changpu Lim, her superior at the time, to help her conduct a cover up. He paid off her family to agree to let you keep her and keep quiet and they never meet her again. While this is a type of slavery, it is an illegitimate kind as understood by the Yan. This is more of a "modern slavery" situation where the wealthy simply abuse people with less power rather than the out and about slavery practiced in the world.

You also gave the pet to Zhenzhen. The whipping girl interpreted it as you taking revenge for her, and so this made her even more loyal to you.

The teacher figured out the truth, that you got rid of her because of her political views. She quit and left service in fear. Later on after meeting R4 you realize that your friend was right and that you acted horribly to her, ruining her life.

Peizhi Nam made you realize that she is right politically, you realized yourself earlier that she was right about the whipping girl, and you did end up having a sexual relationship with her.

You went home and cried to her and apologized to her. You deprived her of everything, you said you were sorry, you were confused and thought the wrong things. You realize now that she's a good person and you regret it. You ask her if she wants freedom, and she shakes her head no. She's lived as your pet for over 3 years at this point. Her disabilities would only mean she's a burden on her family. She shows that the whipping girl trained her well, and she is obedient and submissive as a pet now. You give her the D as an apology, and promises to make her life as a pet happy. Just because you hurt her this horribly doesn't mean she should die a virgin never knowing love. You say you'll do what you can and give her a family, and include her as part of your household. She was happy to receive your apology, and though you're not sure if she really forgave you, at least the interaction made you feel better, you are satisfied with your own performance and proved to yourself that you really changed and are no longer selfish.

You refer to that incident as your "Prince Nalen" moment. Prince Nalen was a historical prince who was known for being a horrible tyrannical child prince, aka prince joffery, cruel and easy to anger.

Setup for how this storyline is unveiled

Start with introducing Jingfei Haerata who did the actual limb chopping. Then the whipping girl, who was responsible for the pet. Pet girl exists and introduced.

At some point, discuss your philosophy of power and how you're an enlightened ruler who seeks to bring benefit to his people. Say that your realization of this is hard won and you've made mistakes in your life.

Have people bring up the childhood friend, ask about her, and see you brush off those comments. Maybe the wife will mention her, say that she's never heard about her from you until she met the people in your town.

Then slowly introduce the existence of a childhood friend. Have a couple of other characters hint at her here and there. Do not reveal that she is the pet, the story starts off cute and sweet, that she is the pet is the big shocking twist.

3 part flashback. Meeting her and wrestling, your mother's warnings. 2. Her relationship with the whipping girl, the "manipulation", the tattling, the whipping, the punishment. 3. The return, the realization, the apology, the D.

Midway through the story you develop enough medical knowledge to fix her. She joins the story as a member of your harem.

She knows that Zhenzhen is spayed and can't have children. Ironically though she's lost so much she still hasn't lost her womanhood, and can have natural birth. She wants it bad, not just to give her life meaning, destitute as it is, but also to stick it in Zhenzhen's face and have such a great victory over her. She revels in her ability to do so whereas Zhenzhen cannot.

She is enemies with the whipping girl and if you restore her by the end you'll have to choose either one of them to reward, if you give them both power they will fight each other in a civil war.
