Overview
There will be 4 major cultures that gets mentioned at some point. 4 seems to be a good number, matching IRL, that feels flavorful but not overwhelming. Each "culture" is a supernational civilizational grouping analogous to real world's Western, East Asian, Middle Eastern and South Asian groupings. However, we want new cultures, not ones inspired by real world stereotypes. I hate that shit. There are of course many other smaller cultures that exist but they won't be developed. It is expected that only 2 cultures are developed to a significant degree. The home culture of the player, and another culture to contrast with that culture. The names of the cultures should also be randomly generated.
Because the expectation for cultures is for this to be a relatively globalized world, there are not going to be extreme variations. All the cultures are fairly "normal" settled societies as per a modern reader, though there is opportunity for niches. The goal of this story is not anthropological exploration nor sci-fi. Rather, the existence of cultures is solely meant to build immersion, not distract people with anthropology.
For simplicity's sake:
Total population is 2 billion. There are a total of 80 countries.

A specific suicide rite becomes a honored way of death, open to everyone who is diseased, suffering, etc. It is a private and highly honorable affair, that is intended to give those who are at their wits end hope for a better life if they can just do this death rite. However the death rite is actually a front for a state-sanctioned therapy intervention and most people are talked into not dying.
Geography Overview
Geopolitics History and Summary
Fabuwie was at times called the "Continent of War". The Main Continent where 3/4 of the "major civilizations" are from. It's so called that because the that's where the demons originally first dominated and was the last area to be liberated. It had the weakest development historically. As the Mortal Dynasty was collapsing it was also the first to fall into feudalism/warlordism, with the Mortal Dynasty no longer able to secure the continent from the remaining demons. Even as the main continent restructured into great empires Fabuwie still remained locked in cycles of war acted as Viking-like raiders on the main continent.
Their attacks hastened the collapse of the main continent empires into feudalism as well. Generally speaking, the main continent historically viewed those from Fabuwie as war-like barbarians.
That generally has changed since the Establishment of the Empire of Fabuwie in 6725. For a while it became a strong, stable force, moving away from the reputation of being a "Continent of War".
Nebim, founded in 6714, is a Fabuwie raider state, subjugating several of the older lower Washan states, including the Duchy of Acasa. The paternal line of Len is from the Nebim invaders. The Mings are from fabuwie, and forcibly married into the rulers of Len. Enfeoffed the county of Len by the Nebim king, they could've just killed the existing rulers, but took pity on them and married the last princess of Len.
Note that this happened about 300 years ago before the present day, and the MC no longer thinks of himself as from Fabuwie, the maternal line descends from storied rulers of Len and that's his main heritage as in the years since the family tree added many other Washan natives and that's now considered the main DNA.
Piyse and Nebim fought 2 wars before Ian Ming's, but it was largely considered settled once they established a marriage alliance in 6847. Nebim had in large parts "went civilized". However they still keep some nasty practices from their subjugating days. Those practices triggered Ian Ming's defection, but ultimately what made it possible is the weak governance of Nebim that made the once formidable conquering nation beatable by Piyse.
In the Piyse court are Nebim princes and princesses from royal marriage alliances and hostages.
