Side Quests Overview & Ideas Dump

Just one document to easily look over of a broad view of the sidequests for the initial release. Having it all collected in 1 document makes it easier to integrate them together as well as avoid duplicate ideas.

Rising Star - Deng Yu

• Famed theologian and honorary leader of a Yan org.
• Themes of disability. She was so elite and strong, Coping with Disability: A character must adapt to a sudden disability, exploring themes of resilience, dependency, and identity change. The trauma and despair of becoming impaired.
• You first mention the rising star when hiring the maid, thinking of how your first choice would be to hire the rising star but she is too rich. You want to hire someone "like" the rising star but settled on the maid.

Wife's Personal Assistant - Hanzen Nor

R4 - Peizhi Yuncheng

• Talks about sex
• Really happy and shows herself to really enjoy life a lot. She's never stressed out or worried about politics or plots despite these things seeming quite important to you. You admire her carefree happiness and absolute confidence. Obviously that's because she's a powerful necromancer and any adventures she's having she's doing so willingly.
• She compliments your fitness, most nobles are lazy, and you tell her you work out for sex. You're able to hold a plank on nice angles while she sits on top of you.
• When you were younger she gave you a tip about using magic to achieve mental sex and greater intimacy. You were the first one in the world to actually use that tip to discover the secret, and you had a mindblowing time with her. From then on she was on to your talent and is kinda obsessed with you.
• While you're at her scorean she asks you to go meet with her alone, you can choose to do so and f her or go with your wife and get a more family scene.
• To show off your childhood intellectualness, she taught you a secret language only you would know, a coded speak for just the two of you. People would be so confused when you're talking, like if you were in your own world.
• She's well educated, can speak multiple languages
• To get close to you because she really likes you, she contrived a plot at home that forces her to "seek protection" or some kind of exile in Len with you since you're the only one she trusts. Obviously this is some ploy that's easily resolved for her but she chooses to use it as an excuse to get with you. She's into games like this because it's fun for her, it's amusement. She's so old that she has lost sense of concepts like, big things, small things, the "important things in life". Because nothing is important, all things are small to her, therefore she only cares about enjoying herself with chasing what we might see as pointless pleasures.
  • She brings a bunch of women and a quite decadent sexual atmosphere
  • While in Len it triggers a competitive reaction from your wife since it's obvious the queen likes you a lot.
    • She spreads rumors about the queen's loose morals.
    • In the hero route:
      • She plots to attack her by using Ryube Haerata. She had gotten close to Jingfei Haerata who taught her dance moves. Ryube is her younger brother and handsome and dashing. He supposedly loves the queen and tries to court her. This is really a plot to hurt the queen's reputation and make her less attractive to you.
        • He would wink at her and give her gifts. She is nice to everyone but it goes too far.
        • People speculate about a tryst between him and the queen.
        • He does something over the top, like sneaking into her room to prepare a surprise for her.
        • Upon discovering this she orders him killed, this creates a huge problem with Jingfei obviously.
        • Wife is shocked at this outcome. She tells you that the queen is crazy.
          • You either agree and side with the wife and ends the queen route or
          • From here you question Jingfei and gets her to confess that wife put him up to it.
          • You start siding with the queen over the wife for her machinations.
            • Wife apologies and begs but it's too late lol you're on the R4 route. Though you forgive her you get a lot closer to R4 seeing her as a victim and becomes a little wary of your wife.
      • In the political route:
        • She full on joins your court and becomes a mass fight with all the girls there.
• Memory's a theme for her. She forgets a lot every time she refreshes her body, but her old memories are stored in a castle not just deleted. There she can access magic that lets her do RAG on her old data. Though there are things she can't remember or chooses not to remember, her technologies allow her to retrieve them if necessary.
  • Potentially dark imagery, a bunch of slaves trapped in her memory chamber who serve as indexes to help power her search. Kinda pointless plotwise though. I think it's darker if it's just in the background, mentioned but not discussed or in the foreground of any images, making a big deal about it makes it more lame i think
  • Maybe she forgot the full extent of the Inshi's power and requests you to help her retrieve an item to help restore it? The item makes her more powerful as an Inshi. Either she asks you to retrieve it, which can be kind of boring, or you find it another way, maybe as part of a different quest, and this leads back to her?
• Loves clothing, hedonism, sex, but doesn't care for the relationship of those things to status and wealth. (cause she's immortal and are above such petty human concerns). Rather she cares about the things that we regular people consider petty.
• If you have her high rel and you declare love for your wife she seethes in jealousy.
• She can also tell you the truth about the legend of Cahn, a historical figure between myth and legend, romanticized and wildly distorted throughout the ages. Inspired by the myth of "king" arthur. Though now remembered as having fought demons and saved the world, in reality he fought against the invasion by Kpor. He killed one of the great generals of Kpor, who was a lover of R4. After Sica was conquered his name was struck from history, though his memory lives on in oral history. Thousands of years later after the fall of Kpor he was the subject of great plays and stories, but the history was changed to be him defending against the "third invasion" of demons and killing the demon king. The third invasion is a largely mythological event that never happened, but it was a convenient way to make him a hero. Some less educated people implicitly believe it to be true though.
  • This is a mostly irrelevant historical tidbit
• R4 kills a grandson of hers to protect him. She's had a number of children throughout her long life and many of her descendants are politically active and relevant.
  • This act really shows how far R4 has fallen for him. She's not even distraught over the killing of her own descendant. Well firstly she's not very close with them, so it's nothing crazy, but she would still prefer not to do such things, and it's a real sacrifice.
• R4 says "Think about who is really good enough for you. You are changing, your answer changes too."

• News reporter / spy for the Kingdom
• Inspired by the Skylar singing to Ted scene in Breaking Bad. At one point she tries to seduce you in front of other people. It's cringe. Elements that make it cringe: She is absolutely sincere about it but is shy and focused. She moves poorly in stereotypically seductive ways. She is over the top and pretty ineffective. The other people don't react, don't make fun of her nor cheer her, it's just her awkward self.

Marshal - Changpu Lim

• Suspected disloyalty arc, later finds out that he's not disloyal. Tests the limits of your paranoia, get a grip on yourself and the stresses of power.
• Use his daughter Ninghong Lim against him.

The Pet - Roulan Suan

• Introduced during the first meeting with mom.
• You just kinda fuck her casually.
• She's "crazy, emotional, overdramatic". Kinda a throwaway LI that's expected to bring variety and plot but isn't well loved waifu material.

Slaver Friend - Yao Hong

• First meet with him to discuss Misterismark Nexus, in the SCN, ask him how it goes sublicensing it.
• There's a flashback scene where you with R4 saw him get picked on, and talked to him about ways to get back at his bullies. You and R4 were making fun of him too but he was just happy there was someone talking to him.
• He's been your follower ever since. Back then you didn't like him, considered him lame. But as you grew up you got less conceited and saw the potential in everyone. It didn't hurt that he was generous with his money around you and grew up to be confident and good looking.
• While I would love for him to integrate with other storylines, since the audience is expected to be very insecure, he's not going to interact with any of the other characters as NTR prevention.
  • However he's do a scuffle scene with your bodyguard as yaoi/yuri bait.
• Lots of shit with genibel etc
• Asks you to help him with setting up a regional slaving headquarters in Len. Can make Len a great slave trading center.

TV Producer - Auifang Sims

• Talk about
• Talk about how you hear about the red string of fate is. How there’s permanent trust and not needing to worry about the other person needing you instead of living your, or that she loves you more than you can love her, because you’ll always have enough to love her back.
• After developing a crush on someone she gets underwear in his favorite color. It’s delulu, alternatively, it’s ambitious and confident she’s going to score him.
• After you agree to setup slaving operation with Yao Hong, she approaches you to get a sponsorship for her SCN program.
  • You can enter a slave into the competition, what better way to show the superiority of your slaves.
    • An option to enter a random slave or a hero should always exist but I think it might be interesting to enter Roulan Suan - The Pet who you repair. Perhaps she volunteers to go?

• Girl tells you a story about how she successfully stole a guy from another girl, ruined their (boy and girl were friends) 20 yo friendship
• Discussion on what the appeal of casual sex is. You answer: the feeling of being pursued, someone seeking to give you pleasure. That feels good and you want to keep it going not shut it down.

N2 - Taomi Minra

• You say yes ma'am. She thinks to herself, she doesn't even like being dominant but the guys so attractive that he makes her want to take the lead to not make him disappointed in her.
  • Femdom doesn't quite work for this game and audience, maybe she thinks this about your secretary?

Misc

• A scene meeting with an old diplomat who was there for Qiangdi's defeat. Coalition against Qiangdi included Chaoxia, Hansei, Cheonha, Veriques, and Five Fabuwie states. He was there to negotiate what to do afterwards.
  • The King of Veriques was the leader of the coalition.
  • Cheonha and Hansei pushed for extermination of the Qiangdi, Hansei because they wanted to exterminate the Crypto-Iexins and Cheonha because they opposed the other option, which is enslavement. Cheonha didn't want competition to their slave trade.
  • Hansei really really hates them and thinks the commoners are highly dangerous, with many oyf them having risen to high positions and the commoner people having seen them as role models in admiration, and thus would conceivably also aspire to greatness.
    • The diplomat was from Chaoxia and visited the commoners of Qiangdi who treated him generously after their defeat. It was always the commoners who suffered the foolishness of their Solfrey masters. He was sympathetic and wanted to save them.
      • The Fabuwie were originally just going to go along with whatever the others wanted as they were stronger, but the diplomat convinced them to oppose the extermination by promising a 60% share of a new company that would be formed to enslave the Qiangdi. The diplomat contacted several smaller slave companies who agreed to invest and build a new slave company in Qiangdi.
      • In this way he proudly saved 10 million lives. Of the Qiangdi there were 400k Solfrey and 30 million commoners. About 80k Solfrey were killed or executed and 10 million commoners were. The rest of the commoners were enslaved. The rest of the Solfrey were dispersed and exiled, mostly to other Fabuwie states.
        • Many became slave owners of their former countrymen.
